SOME OF OUR PRIORITIES

A Legacy of Lifesaving: Past, Present, and Future

To maintain its exceptional service, MT Hatzalah has embraced modern technology, launching innovative programs to reduce costs while preserving top-tier care. These include preventative maintenance for ambulances, advanced medical supply tracking, and state-of-the-art dispatching systems—all aimed at enhancing efficiency and saving more lives.

This forward-thinking approach, however, depends on the unwavering generosity of donors. Philanthropic contributions from individuals, corporations, and caring community members make it possible to sustain this vital work. By supporting MT Hatzalah, you help continue a tradition of lifesaving care that unites and uplifts the Midtown community, one life at a time.

For decades, these essential services have been—and will always remain—completely free of charge, serving all individuals regardless of race, religion, or ethnicity. Compassionate emergency care is not just a mission; it’s deeply embedded in the history and culture of Midtown Manhattan.

Join us in shaping a future where every emergency call is met with swift, expert, and compassionate care. Together, we can ensure this legacy endures for generations to come.

OUR ROOTS

Upholding A Culture. Never Letting Others Down.

If there is one defining quality that encapsulates the true essence of the Midtown, Manhattan it is the rich and enduring culture of compassion and care that has been a cornerstone of this community for well over a century.

From welcoming immigrants seeking a better life, to housing a financial district known for charitable initiatives, this community has always prioritized compassion. The sacred ground of Ground Zero, where many made heroic sacrifices, further reflects the enduring spirit of resilience and unity.

For more than 40 years, the MT Hatzalah Volunteer Ambulance Corps has proudly upheld this legacy. Support us in continuing the lifesaving mission that defines the heart of this remarkable neighborhood.

OUR LIFESAVING TEAM

Featuring a skilled team of volunteer emergency medical technicians and paramedics who are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, the MT Hatzalah can galvanize members at a moment's notice via two-way radios and dispatch them to medical emergencies throughout the neighborhood.

The challenges faced by the MT Hatzalah are different from most other rescue agencies. For example, volunteers are equipped with two separate sets of medical equipment and oxygen tanks. One set remains in their apartments which allows them to respond to emergencies on foot in surrounding buildings, and another set is kept in their personal vehicle for rapid deployment to surrounding areas. Ambulances are strategically situated for easy access and pickup by the nearest local member.
